The Savannah Black Heritage Festival (SBHF) is presented by Savannah State University with an investment from the City of Savannah. SBHF typically offers 50-60 educational and cultural presentations annually, with approximately 40% programming targeted for youth. Established relationships, collaboration and support (both financial and in-kind) from more than 40+ public and private partners in the arts, educational, business and socio-civic communities, has allowed SBHF to expand offerings of unique events and performances during the festival. Acclaimed national, regional and local artists share their talents in the genres of dance, music, theater, the literary and visual arts, lectures, and hands-on crafts workshops. Other festival components include health and wellness activities, financial planning, entrepreneurial education, and intergenerational experiential learning opportunities.
